My Question: Send faxes on windows without a modem?
I need to send a fax from my laptop (runs windows 7), but I don’t have a telephone modem to do so. Is there a way I could use SIP or VOIP to do this? I’d prefer to do this without paying for software.
There are many ways to do this. If you have VoIP you could use your line to fax.

Sending fax over voip isn’t reliable and it might be a hit and miss affair. If you are going to send faxes regularly then I suggest get an online fax service. There are dozens of fax to email provider or online fax service out there. Choose what is best for your needs.
If you want something without monthly plans then check out Onesuite fax service. Only 2 cents to send fax to Canada or 2.5 cents to US. Sending fax to other countries is possible as well.
